I am so excited to finally share our news- WE BOUGHT A HOUSE!!! These last 37 days have been the most stressful and exciting days of our lives. From having major bumps in the road just to start escrow, to people breaking in the backyard and stealing our air conditioner ONE DAY before we closed escrow. It was definitely a major learning experience for us on how hard it really is to buy a house. It’s not easy but it is definitely worth it.
Why we bought the house:
We drooled over this house the moment we walked in. I had found this house online (I should really be a realtor) two days after my parents moved into their new house. Mike and I have been living together with my parents for a little less than one year and with them moving to their new house, it was a major motivator for us to get our own house because we did not have a room at their new house. So we knew we wanted to start looking, but never did we think that we would be buying a house so soon! We were just starting to save money and crack down on things, but in my mind I knew God put this house in-front of us for a reason. One major plus point of the house is that it is walking distance to my parents! Like how awesome is that?! So I was definitely more eager to see what we could do to get this house. Well, when we went and toured the home, we saw that it had been completely updated, like 100% brand new on the inside. The kitchen has granite counter tops, backslash, brand new cupboards, and brand new appliances. Major brownie points in my opinion. As we started walking around the house, we noticed all the floors were redone too. Brand new laminate wood floors throughout the house and brand new carpet in the bedrooms. So the house was completely turnkey and ready to move in, which was the biggest selling point for me, but Mike had a different selling point or points I should say- The backyard and garages! Our house sits on a .45 acre lot with two driveways, a barn in the back which is set up as storage BUT also has an added two car garage! So in total we have 5 garage spaces. So not only do we have enough garage space for our bikes and cars, we have more storage space than we know what to possibly do with!! But, who could complain about too much space, am I right? So basically, this house was something we wanted to make ours. It is truly a forever home and the possibilities that the property offers is endless. We have lots of work to really make it a home and get it set up exactly how we want, for example I want chickens and a garden, but our backyard has lots of work that needs to be done in order to get it there, but that is all part of the process of owning a home.
This house was a dream come true. I don’t think I could put it any differently. We are unbelievably blessed by the opportunities that lead up to buying the house. Not many people can say that they bought their first house at the age of 21. Mike is such a hard worker and I am so proud to be by his side through this life. Buying a house is a huge deal, it is probably one of the biggest investments of your life. And to really want to settle down with someone and live “happily ever after” with them is so special. I am extremely grateful for the love and support and encouragement I get from Mike and from our families. We have lots to get used to from here on out and by no means will it be easy, but it will all be worth it in the end.
Because we barely moved in less than a week ago and are still getting it set up and getting settled in, I don’t have that many pictures, but I made sure I took some to show all of you!

I really only took pictures of the more “put together” areas of our house. I’ll be doing a post on a house tour with room by room pictures very soon!
Xoxo.
